Making a Small Space Look Bigger
I came across this article titled; “7 Design Tweaks that Will Instantly Refresh your SMALL Space for Spring.” The article is more about interior design elements, but I think it had a few poignant design ideas. So I’d like to share them with you TODAY! I whole heartedly agree with several ideas for those clients that have small spaces.
Here are the ones I like:
Wall to Wall – yes, painting your walls a deep blue make a room look bigger. “Blue recedes.” Perfect for a bedroom with white window trim for a nice crisp contrast. I like the suggestion of a deep blue for a bedroom in particular.
Flower Power – I love this!!!! I am all about plants IN your home. They bring LIFE and happiness into your home.
The Devil’s in the Draping – This is a little magic trick! ‘Hang your curtain rod higher than just above the window frame.’ Wonderful illusion to make the room look taller. This does work!
Textured Treatment – color, pattern, and texture is what I mainly work with to create the right expression for my client’s homes. Knowing what textures you are drawn to is crucial in creating a home you LOVE.
