Some days you just need to spend time in the garden.
It was time for me to pause and enjoy my backyard. Everything is in full bloom right now, but still my favorite is this tree. Look how beautiful the sun shines through the leaves creating a glimmer of red, burgundy and rust tones.

Whenever I design a landscape, I often let the clients know that foliage color is just as critical as the flower color choice of any particular plant. This tree is deciduous, so it not only gives me foliage variations of color, but it also marks the change of seasons. What bliss!
